Oreo is in the business of making chocolate lovers’ dreams come true, it seems. Two potential new flavors might be on their way, one based on a classic ice cream option and the other on a decadent pastry. According to The Junk Food Aisle, an Instagram account that has successfully “leaked” dozens of upcoming products yet to hit store shelves, Oreo has a Rocky Road Trip flavor and a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreo coming in the near future.
The Rocky Road Trip is based on the ice cream flavor, which typically includes a chocolate base, marshmallows, and almonds. From the look of the packaging, the cookie version uses Oreo’s signature chocolate wafers and a chocolate creme with bits of marshmallow and almond inside.
The Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreos were teased last week, and are graham-flavored wafers willed with both peanut butter and chocolate creme.
Oh and, of course, who can forget about the Hot Cocoa Oreos also hinted at earlier this year?
Of course, not everyone needs a fully choco-fied Oreo experience. If you’re looking for something a little lighter, Oreo is adding a new flavor to its Thins line: pistachio. These Oreo Thins feature, as you might guess, a thinner chocolate wafer and are filled with bright green pistachio creme.
With so many out-of-the-box flavors, guessing which one Oreo will debut next is kind of a mystery. And speaking of mysteries, just this week the brand finally revealed its “Mystery” flavor. Unleashed upon the public back in October, Food & Wine got our hands on the limited-edition all-white packaged cookies and put in our two cents. Our verdict? Fruity Pebbles. The actual flavor? Fruity Pebbles. And because guessing the flavor was a contest, some cookie-loving fan with a knack for nosing out flavors just woke $50,000 for the correct guess.
