Sparking up your day with this cannabis-infused French toast recipe seems like a recipe for excellence. Laurie Goldrich Wolf, author of Cooking with Cannabis, stuffs French toast with ricotta cheese and jam that combine to achieve a perfect level of creamy, tangy sweetness. Prepare a batch of cannabutter—cooking low and slow to activate the THC without burning it—to replace the butter in any traditional French toast recipe. This stuffed French toast receives a double hit of THC, by coating the bread and greasing the pan with cannabutter. We highly recommend this French toast recipe anytime you’re craving a sweet morning buzz.
Stuffed French Toast
- Yields: 2 servings
Brush 2 slices of the bread with the melted cannabutter. Layer the 2 slices with the ricotta cheese and then the jam. Top off each sandwich with a slice of bread.
In a wide, shallow bowl, beat the eggs and milk. Dip the sandwiches into the egg mixture.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter starts to foam, add the sandwiches. Cook until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes, and then turn and cook on the other side until golden brown.
Place on serving plates, cut in half, drizzle with any remaining jam, and sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar, if using.
